The Gagarin Aircraft Plant in Komsomolsk-on-Amur, part of the United Aircraft Corporation (UAC), has delivered the next serial Su-57 (fifth generation) and Su-35S (generation 4++) aircraft to the Russian Ministry of Defense, according to the head of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation, Denis Manturov.
According to the minister, domestic aircraft factories are "gaining good production pace", supplying equipment to the Russian Aerospace Forces under the state defense order. Manturov added that the next delivery of aircraft is expected by the end of 2023.
The head of UAC, Yuri Slyusar, clarified that the Su-57s, which should be handed over to the Russian Ministry of Defense this year, are in the final assembly shop, and from there they will go to the flight test station. The next batch of Su-35S is also in a high degree of readiness, he concluded.
Earlier, it became known that the fifth-generation Su-57 fighter will receive new missiles to engage targets at a range of up to 300 km.
