Russian e-visa may become cheaper

Nikita Kondratyev, Director of the Department of Multilateral Economic Cooperation and Special Projects of the Ministry of Economic Development, announced at the Eastern Economic Forum that the Russian e-visa may become cheaper. The Ministry of Economic Development is working on this issue jointly with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

From the moment of submission, the processing of an electronic visa takes a maximum of 6 days. You can apply from home through the website of the Russian Foreign Ministry. It costs $52. But now there is a task, following the results of the session that was held on tourism under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin, to work out the issue of reducing the cost of an electronic visa. We will work it out together with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

As a reminder, the electronic visa in Russia was launched on August 1 of this year. As part of the service, citizens of 55 countries can apply for a visa to Russia online. Its validity period is 60 days from the date of issue, and the period of stay is 16 days from the date of entry into the country.
