As Interfax reports citing EGRUL data, the known Canadian auto components manufacturer Magna International sold its Russian assets to the local company «E-Mobile». Little is known about «E-Mobile» s operations.
The main activity of the «E-Mobile» company is rail passenger transportation, until 2017 the company belonged to former adviser to the head of Uralvagonzavod Igor Timoshin. Publication sources «Ъ» believe, that the deal to sell the assets of Magna might have been carried out in the interests of a large buyer who chose not to disclose themselves due to sanctions.
«E-Mobile» became the owner of 100% of the shares in four Russian “daughters” of Magna International: “Magna St. Petersburg”, “Peterform”, “Magna Seating Nizhny Novgorod” and “Magna Seating Rus”. These enterprises were engaged in the production of auto components, in particular, seats for foreign auto manufacturers operating in the Russian Federation (such as the Russian Hyundai plant).
Magna ranks third among the world's largest auto parts manufacturers. The company has manufacturing facilities in 27 countries, supplying base components to Volkswagen, Toyota, GM, Ford, Tesla plants.
