Analysts from «Autostat» improved the forecast for the growth of the Russian new car market - now the figure in the optimistic scenario is fixed at 1 million cars. This is 60% more than in 2022.

At the same, the basic scenario is not much different - 930 thousand cars. And even in an unfavorable scenario, Russia will sell 840 thousand new cars by the end of the year - 34% more than in 2022.

Analysts note negative factors affecting the market - an increase in recycling fees from August 1, a shortage of auto components, and a decline in the ruble. Experts believe that the cost of new cars will continue to rise, which, of course, will impact the industry.

According to the «Autostat», for 7 months of 2023, 497.2 thousand new cars were sold in Russia - 28% more than in January-July 2022.
