An agreement was signed at the SPIEF-2023 between Radar mms and the St. Petersburg Transport Committee for the supply of five new-generation Meteor 120R hydrofoil speedboats.
Their purchase will cost the city 2.5 billion rubles, while St. Petersburg will receive the new Meteors only by the summer of 2024. But this will significantly update the fleet of hydrofoil vessels, the average age of which has exceeded 30 years.
The Meteor 120R is a truly new motor ship. The 67-ton displacement vessels can accommodate 120 passengers, and the crew consists of 6 people. The length of the motor ship is 35.8 meters, the width is 9.2 meters, the cruising range is up to 600 km at a speed of up to 65 km/h. Interestingly, each Meteor 120R is planned to be equipped with two MAN engines with a capacity of 1450 hp. However, the company is already thinking about import substitution.
