KAMAZ CEO Sergey Kogogin announced that Russian electric cars 'Atom' will most likely be produced at the Moscow car plant. A separate legal entity will be created for this. Previously, it was mentioned that the production of 'Atom' might be set up at the Ford plant in Naberezhnye Chelny, however, according to Kogogin, this is unlikely since the plant is currently inactive and requires investment.
The CEO of the company 'Kama' Igor Povarazdnyuk announced, that in October 2023, 'Kama' cars will begin test trials. In the second-third quarter of 2024, the company plans to produce the first trial sample on the production site and gradually start serial production of the cars by mid-2025. The production volume at the first stage will range from 5 to 15 thousand cars depending on the number of pre-orders. By 2030, 'Kama' plans to increase production volumes to over 100 thousand cars per year. The company plans to export the cars to countries in Southeast Asia and the Middle East. And possibly, to China.
The dimensions of the 'Atom' will be 3995 x 1780 x 1615 mm. The electric car will be presented in four versions: single-seat Delivery, two-seat Duo, four-seat Taxi and five-seat Family. Each one's range on a single charge will be 500 km. All modifications will be front-wheel drive and will have a regenerative system. The 'Atoms' will be supplied with an operating system ATOM OS, which can be controlled using a smartphone application.
