The publication “Kommersant” has familiarized itself with the Apple company's financial report on the purchase and use of precious metals for the production of its technology. The documents say that the “apple company” in 2022 refused from tungsten, tantalum and gold from Russian manufacturers “at the request of the US government”. But at the same time, the document states that Apple uses tungsten from the factory "Moliren" in the Moscow region.
As regards Samsung, it continues to purchase precious metals in Russia - the Korean company's report includes enterprises “Hydrometallurg” (JSC “Company "Tungsten"”), “Moliren” (“Special Alloy Service”), Unecha Hard Metals Plant (UZHM), Solikamsk Magnesium Plant (SMZ) and others.
However, if the report does not contain Russian enterprises, it does not mean that Apple, for example, has completely abandoned Russian metals. The situation is explained by Sergey Grishunin, managing director of the NRA rating service: “In general, we can say that if Americans refuse to buy metal in Russia, they are simply sold metal from another country, which buys it from the Russian Federation”.
