The editorial team of "First Technical" is pleased to continue sharing good movies with you. For this weekend, we have prepared for you the exciting series "Embracing the Sky". You will find 12 episodes about the strong feelings and exploits of military pilots that will not leave you indifferent.
About the series
The series is set in the 1980s. The Lugov family — Lieutenant Colonel Andrei, his wife Marina, and their daughter Zhenya, who was 15 years old at the time — moves to the Trans-Baikal military garrison. Zhenya falls in love with her classmate Vanya Kotov, and her feelings are mutual. However, the characters will have to go through many trials. Years later, they meet again: Vanya becomes a test pilot, and Zhenya becomes a military surgeon.
Cast and crew
Milena Fadeeva, the director and screenwriter of the film, was educated under the guidance of Vladimir Khotinenko. She also had experience working as a journalist and creating documentaries. In 2008, she first acted as a director of feature films.
The series features a star-studded cast. The young characters are represented by Alexander Petrov and Lyubov Aksenova, who have already established themselves in the film industry. Interestingly, Petrov's role was one of his first in big cinema. The adult characters are embodied by Anatoly Bely and Ekaterina Rednikova. Daniil Strakhov, Victoria Tolstoganova, Oleg Almazov, Ingrid Olerinskaya and other famous actors also took part in the project.
How the filming took place
The characters in the film are pilots, so a large part of the filming took place at the airfield in Zhukovsky, in one of the best military schools in Borisoglebsk, and the main base was in an aviation fighter garrison near Murom.
I grew up in a military family, and I have long wanted to write about the army, but not about what it has become, but about what it once was. To write about officers, about pilots, about real men.
All the aerial scenes in the film and all the aerobatics were filmed live, without the use of computer graphics.
The main technical roles in the film were played by several MiG-29 fighters, which, of course, were flown only by professionals, two L-39 Albatros training aircraft and several helicopters. Five cameras were filming on the ground, and four were mounted on airplanes.
The roar of engines, rapid flights over the ground and dizzying turns — all this was captured with incredible clarity, creating the effect of complete immersion in the world of height and speed. The work of the film crew, which was at the epicenter of events, was a real feat, requiring not only professionalism, but also nerves of steel.
MiG-29 is a Soviet and Russian multi-purpose front-line supersonic fourth-generation fighter. It is designed to destroy aerial targets in all weather conditions, as well as to engage ground targets in visual visibility.
Aero L-39 Albatros is a jet trainer aircraft developed in Czechoslovakia in the 1960s. It is designed to train flight personnel, some modifications can be used as light attack aircraft and fighters.
Don't miss the opportunity to plunge into the world of courage, valor and love with the series "Embracing the Sky". This is a movie that makes you think about the price of heroism, the power of friendship and the importance of human relationships. Get ready for a thrilling journey into the sky, full of adrenaline and emotion!
