Birds of Happiness of Tomorrow: India to Decide on Supplier of Medium Multi-Role Combat Aircraft for its Air Force

The Indian Air Force's fleet may be replenished with Russian, European, or American fighters

The Indian government plans to purchase 114 fourth-generation fighters for its Air Force. Russian manufacturers may participate in the tender for the supply of the "Medium Multi-Role Combat Aircraft".

A key condition for participation in the procurement is the establishment of aircraft production in the country under the "Make in India" program. This will reduce dependence on the supply of components from abroad.

The Indian Air Force will soon decommission Jaguar, Mirage-2000, MiG-29, and MiG-21 fighters. Considering this fact, the authorities promise to resolve the issue of their replacement in the near future.

Experts say that New Delhi will consider American F-21, F/A-18E/F, F-15 EX, French Dassault Rafale, European Eurofighter Typhoon, Russian МиГ-35, Су-35, and Су-57 for procurement.
