Rosoboronexport presented the latest "Rubezh-ME" coastal missile system (CMS) at the Vietnam Defense Expo in Hanoi. It was developed on the principle of a "ship on wheels" and equipped with Kh-35UE missiles with artificial intelligence.
The complex has already been exhibited several times in Russia at various forums, but this is its first time abroad. Vietnam is our closest partner, we have been working with them for a long time.
The "Rubezh-ME" was built on the principle of a "ship on wheels." A locator, combat control systems, and a launcher are located on the high- проходимости chassis of the KamAZ-6560. The complex is armed with Kh-35UE anti-ship missiles equipped with artificial intelligence.
Main characteristics of "Rubezh-ME":

- Number of missiles — 4 units
- Missile flight speed — 0.85 M
- Target detection range: active radar — up to 100 km, passive radar — up to 450 km
The system developer is the company "Typhoon". The manufacturers emphasized that the "Rubezh-ME" does not need additional means to obtain target designation data before opening fire.
"Rubezh-ME" will provide control of strait zones and territorial waters, protection of naval bases and other coastal facilities, protection of the coast in landing-dangerous directions, and protection of sea communications.
