Project 21980 Grachonok Ships Received Powerful Armament

The special-purpose boat P-475 (project 21980 "Grachonok")joined the Northern Fleet. This is the last in a series of 28 patrol ships designed to protect Russian bases from potential attacks, writes Bulgarian Military.

The P-475 boat was built at the "Vympel" shipyard in Rybinsk. The ship's crew will be able to prevent attacks on key naval facilities, including attacks by unmanned boats (BEC).

One of the key features of the Project 21980 boats is advanced radar equipment. The ships are equipped with modern radars capable of detecting air and surface targets at medium distances.

Radars are integrated with electro-optical surveillance systems for tracking targets in the dark or in fog. An addition to the radar systems is hydroacoustic antenna arrays (detect small submarines, mines).

The Project 21980 boats are equipped with advanced communication systems for coordinating actions with the command center and other ships.

The "Grachonok" is armed with one 14.5 mm MTPU, DP-65 and DP-64 grenade launchers, as well as the "Igla", "Verba" MANPADS.
