In Iran, at the exercises of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC, elite troops, part of the Iranian Armed Forces) "Great Prophet-19", a new kamikaze drone (loitering munition) "Rezvan" was presented. Russian experts compared its design with the UAV "Product 53" from Zala Aero.
The Rezvan drone is launched from a cylindrical launcher. It is equipped with a front camera to transmit images to the operator. The Rezvan has a flight range of 20 kilometers and a flight duration of 20 minutes.
The author of Tasnim noted that the kamikaze drone patrols the designated square, and when a target is detected, it dives with subsequent detonation of the ammunition.
Rezvan is similar to the Russian "Product 53"
The Russian expert community noted the similarity between Rezvan and the "Product 53" developed by Zala Aero (part of the Kalashnikov concern).
This drone is equipped with an optoelectronic system in the nose for target detection and precise guidance. It is launched from a cylindrical transport and launch container and, in its concept, is similar, for example, to our "Product 53" from Zala.
Features of the kamikaze drone "Product 53"
Structurally, the UAV is a body with four wings installed at an angle of 45 degrees. It is equipped with an automatic guidance system that allows it to recognize and hit a target with minimal operator involvement.
"Product 53" is launched using a compact launcher resembling a mortar. The kamikaze drone features increased armor penetration and an improved fuse with remote detonation capability.
