In St. Petersburg, signs of AI were found in 147 out of 220 lawsuits, and it all started with Kanye West

The check revealed traces of neural networks in 67% of documents

In St. Petersburg courts, signs of AI use were found in almost seven out of ten checked lawsuits. Daria Lebedeva, head of the united press service of the city's courts, examined 220 legal documents using three special programs and found traces of AI in 147 of them.

This is about 67% of the sample. According to Lebedeva, the share of artificial intelligence in individual documents reached 75.8%. For the experiment, five applications from each judicial body on various topics were selected.

The reason for the check was a curious lawsuit mentioning American rapper Kanye West. The judge drew attention to the large volume of the document and the "tedious" style of presentation — these features raised suspicions of AI use.

At the same time, according to Lebedeva, all lawsuits written with the help of AI were accepted for proceedings. Thus, the use of AI itself did not hinder their consideration.
