The corresponding agreement was signed by Murad Aslanov, Director of Rosatom's office in Egypt, and Ehab Saad, Technical Director of Teletech. The cooperation will create a technological base for deploying advanced energy storage solutions in the country for power generation, telecommunications, data centers (DPC), the oil and gas industry, and other industrial sectors.

Aslanov stated that Egypt's energy development depends on diversifying its energy balance and sustainable infrastructure.

Creating local capacities for energy storage system production can support grid stability as renewable energy expands, and also develop domestic technical expertise.

The construction of a lithium-ion battery assembly plant is in line with Egypt's Sustainable Clean Energy Plan until 2030. Energy storage systems based on battery cells will help reduce the country's dependence on energy imports, Rosatom's press service emphasized.

The state corporation's fuel division is developing a full chain of energy storage production — from electrode manufacturing, cells, battery management systems to traction batteries and stationary energy storage systems. Localizing the assembly of storage devices abroad will help bring Russian products to a new market and reduce the cost of finished products in the partner country. Rosatom is also considering placing similar production facilities in Belarus and Uzbekistan.
