The modernized Tu-95MSM strategic bomber uses an identical set of weapons as the previous Tu-95MS version. This was stated by the Commander of the Russian Air Force, Sergey Kobylash, who previously headed the country's long-range combat aviation.
According to him, the effectiveness of both versions of the missile carriers is at a very high level.
We cannot fall behind. The appearance [of the Tu-95MSM] says nothing. Inside there is modernized equipment that allows using the full range of weapons.
It should be noted that the main strike missile of the Tu-95MS was the Kh-101 with a conventional warhead. The nuclear variant of this missile is considered to be the Kh-102.
Earlier it became known that the updated Tu-95MSM achieved the ability to perform flight stages along a programmed route without pilot intervention.
Also, the modernized missile carrier received a new cockpit, in which each crew member has a display with the ability to output flight parameters.
