The large landing ship (BDK) "Kondopoga" (Project 775) landed three two-section all-terrain vehicles DT-10PN "Vityaz" with marines and engineers from its tween deck onto the bank of the Yenisei River as part of tactical exercises in Taimyr. This was reported by the press service of the Northern Fleet.
According to the exercise scenario, a simulated enemy captured the Dudinka seaport — the largest transport hub in Siberia and the northernmost international seaport in Russia. The Northern Fleet personnel practiced actions to unblock the port infrastructure.
The landing of troops and equipment from the large landing ship "Kondopoga" was carried out by beaching. After that, the servicemen marched and carried out an operation to liberate a critical facility.
Servicemen of the anti-sabotage unit prevented the passage of "enemy" watercraft and eliminated their patrols on the coast. The exercises also involved the ice-class patrol ship "Ivan Papanin" (Project 23550), a Ka-29 shipborne helicopter, and drones.
The BDK "Kondopoga" is the seventh ship of Project 775, part of the Kola Flotilla of diverse forces of the Northern Fleet. It was built at the Northern Shipyard in Gdansk, and has been part of the Navy since 1976.
The ship is armed with two A-215 "Grad-M" MLRS launchers (firing range — 21 km), two twin AK-725 artillery mounts, and four Strela-2 MANPADS launchers. The "Kondopoga" can transport cargo weighing up to 500 tons, including 10 medium tanks and 340 personnel.
The DT-10PN "Vityaz" is a two-section tracked amphibious all-terrain vehicle with enhanced cross-country capability, produced since 1982. The transport vehicle is specially designed for operation in harsh climatic conditions, including the Arctic and the Far North. It accommodates up to 5 people, with a cruising range of 700 km.
