The introduction of artificial intelligence into cybersecurity has affected the work of white hat hackers (specialists who check websites and applications for vulnerabilities). Now testers work with several AI agents. This was stated by Dmitry Serebryannikov, Managing Director for Security at Positive Technologies, at the "Digital Solutions" forum in Moscow.
And now we are moving away from the 'one hacker - one computer' model to the 'one hacker - many AI agents' model.
Serebryannikov stated that the role of a white hat hacker is changing now — if before they managed on their own, now it is difficult for one person to check hundreds of different hacking scenarios. Autonomous AI agents help specialists with this; they have made a real revolution in cybersecurity, he emphasized.
An intelligent software system is capable of independently setting goals, planning multi-stage work, and using various tools. Autonomous AI agents perform dozens of different tasks without constant supervision; a white hat hacker connects to the process only at the most critical moments, the expert concluded.
In Russia, several large technology companies are developing autonomous AI agents and forming a new market. Among them are Sber, Yandex, MTS and Just AI.
