Arctic Strategic Asset: Tenkergin Tungsten Deposit Put Up for Auction

Rosnedra set the initial price for the 25-year license lot at 783 million rubles

Rosnedra has once again put the Tenkergin tin-tungsten deposit in the Chukotka Autonomous Okrug up for auction. The starting price for the lot has increased more than sevenfold — to 783.331 million rubles, compared to 110.091 million in the spring of 2025, when the auction did not take place due to a lack of bids. Document submission will last until November 5, and the auction itself is scheduled for November 23. The winner will receive a 25-year license for a plot of 1.8 km².

The sharp revision of the initial payment is directly related to the surge in tungsten prices. In the spring of 2026, metal quotes at their peak exceeded last year's by 6.5–9 times; now they remain approximately three times higher than the 2025 level. It was this market jump that made the previously unviable object significantly more expensive.

The deposit accounts for tungsten trioxide reserves: 3843 tons in category C1 and 3147 tons in C2, plus P1 prospective resources of 5827 tons. In addition, 12 tons in category B are listed in the dumps of previous exploration and pilot mining. For ore tin, the figures are more modest — 97 tons C1, 58 tons C2, and 106 tons of P1 resources. The average content of tungsten trioxide in veins reaches 2.6%, tin — 0.05%.

Tenkergin is located 235 kilometers north of Egvekinot, in the Iultinsky District. Its remoteness and Arctic climate will require significant investment in infrastructure and energy supply. The license allows not only exploration and extraction but also work with waste from previous developments.
