A light-engine Cessna aircraft, belonging to the FGBU Avialesookhrana, landed on its roof in the Trans-Baikal Territory after engine failure during takeoff. The aircraft landed near the Sretensk runway. Two people on board were injured. This was reported by the Ministry of Emergency Situations and the Eastern Interregional Transport Investigative Department of the Investigative Committee of Russia.
According to preliminary data, on October 10, 2026, during departure from Sretensk to Blagoveshchensk, the engine failed during takeoff, and the aircraft had to make an emergency landing.
The pilot and an aircraft technician were on board. Both sustained injuries and were hospitalized. There were no passengers on the plane.
According to the Eastern Siberian Transport Prosecutor's Office, the aircraft landed on its roof. The aircraft was damaged, but there were no fatalities.
Investigators of the Eastern MSUT IC of Russia are conducting an inspection for signs of violation of air transport safety rules and operation. A criminal case has also been initiated. Specialists will have to establish the causes of the engine failure and the circumstances of the incident.
