Blagoveshchensk Airport has begun servicing international flights in its new passenger terminal. Approximately 400 passengers arriving from Nha Trang, Vietnam, were the first to experience it. While the international sector is currently operating in test mode, it will soon handle passengers on flights to China and Vietnamese resorts. Details were revealed by the airport's press service.
The new service procedure at Blagoveshchensk Airport has been in effect since October 9, 2026. International flights were successfully moved to the new terminal after FKU "Rosgranstroy" completed equipping the border crossing point and processing the necessary documents.
The first passenger aircraft serviced in the new international sector was an Airbus A321neo of VietJet airline, arriving from Nha Trang. It landed in Blagoveshchensk at 8:35 AM local time and departed on its return flight at 10:05 AM.
The international sector is designed to serve up to 400 passengers per hour. Eight passport control booths have been installed for both arrivals and departures. Additionally, four "Sapsan" automatic passport control systems are provided, allowing border procedures to be completed using biometric data. A separate baggage claim hall after border control and a business lounge have been equipped for passengers.
Now, all international routes of the airport will be served in the new terminal. The schedule also includes regular flights to Beijing and Harbin.
The new passenger building of Blagoveshchensk Airport opened on March 31, 2026. It replaced the previous passenger complex and became part of a large-scale airport upgrade. Prior to this, a new runway was built, the aircraft parking area was reconstructed, and a separate cargo terminal was erected.
The area of the new passenger building exceeds 26 thousand square meters. It features four jet bridges, allowing passengers to board directly from the airport building to the aircraft. The terminal is designed to serve up to 1000 people per hour. 23 check-in counters have been equipped, eight of which allow passengers to check in independently. Three baggage claim belts have been installed for baggage retrieval.
