Shvabe, a Rostec company, has brought together Russian developers of components for technical vision systems that could form the basis for the next generation of robots and unmanned vehicles. They aim to integrate optics, sensors, computing platforms, and software into a single cooperative effort.
Such technologies are needed for industrial robots, unmanned transport, medical complexes, and UAVs.
Among the developments are small-sized thermal imaging modules based on the “system-on-chip” principle. Data processing in them occurs directly on board the device, which reduces dependence on external computing systems.
Now we need to consolidate the efforts of scientific and manufacturing organizations and build effective cooperative chains.
Participants also discussed hyperspectral and thermal imaging diagnostics, 3D visualization, edge computing, and neural network image processing.
In fact, this involves creating an independent technological chain for Russian machines – from lens and sensor to an algorithm that will allow the robot to understand what is in front of it.
