Russia has formed a system for global monitoring of the space environment. It integrates the control of domestic spacecraft, orbital and radar surveillance, as well as monitoring of missile-hazardous directions, the Ministry of Defense reported.
According to the agency, the system operates as part of the Space Forces of the Aerospace Forces. It is designed to provide constant monitoring of outer space and control of the domestic orbital constellation.
Currently, an effective system for preparing the launch and control of domestic spacecraft for various purposes, a system for orbital and radar surveillance of missile-hazardous directions, as well as ensuring global monitoring of the space environment, has been created and is functioning in the Space Forces.
The Space Forces also maintain the readiness of the missile attack warning system and continue to master new models of weapons and military equipment.
In addition, the military carries out schedules for launching military and dual-purpose spacecraft, as well as launching intercontinental ballistic missiles.
Thus, we are talking not about one new complex, but about an entire system that links space observation, control of missile-hazardous directions, and control of Russian vehicles.
