Specialists of the company "Vodokhod. Passenger Port" will repair two high-speed passenger hydrofoil vessels "Meteor-220" and "Meteor-231" of project 342E. The work is provided for by a contract with KGBU "Department of Roads and Transport" of the Perm Krai, the company's press service reported.
Shipbuilders performed a large amount of repair work while in Perm. They restored the riveted underwater part of the "Meteors" and launched them.
Then the vessels will be sent to St. Petersburg to complete the work. There, employees of "Vodokhod. Passenger Port" will dismantle outdated equipment and install new. In addition, they will update the interior and paint the hull.
The modernization of the power plant and engineering systems is also envisaged in accordance with modern requirements for passenger transportation safety.
Characteristics of project 342E vessels:
- Cruising range — up to 600 km
- Maximum speed — up to 77 km/h
- Passenger capacity — up to 123 people.
Yury Kulikov, General Director of "Vodokhod. Passenger Port", stated that the return of the vessels to operation is important for ensuring regional river transportation. And for the company's specialists, it is an opportunity to apply many years of experience in operating high-speed fleet, he added.
After repairs, one of the "Meteors" will operate on the Perm — Sarapul route. The second vessel will be used on the Levshino — Solikamsk route.
