The Ministry of Internal Affairs warned: do not share scans and photos of personal documents, as well as codes from SMS and push notifications, with strangers. Disclosing this data, even by mistake, can lead to personal information leaks, money theft, or identity theft.
The agency's materials, reviewed by RIA Novosti, list specific documents: passport, INN, and SNILS. Any copies or photos of them are prohibited. Confirmation codes should also not be disclosed to outsiders.
A separate block is about publishing information in open social media profiles and messengers. You should not post your residential address, real-time location, travel routes, or relatives' phone numbers. Scammers use this information to attack loved ones and gain access to accounts.
