In the coming years, artificial intelligence may become as indispensable a part of everyday life as electricity and the internet. This was stated by Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin in a video address to the participants of the second Moscow Startup Summit. According to him, AI has already entered people's lives, and the technological changes currently taking place affect various spheres.
In Russia, large corporations are engaged in creating fundamental AI models, Mishustin noted. According to the Prime Minister, such developments require serious resources and form a technological base, but more applied solutions are needed for individual industries. These, according to the head of government, can be created by small companies, translating complex technologies into specific products for businesses and people.
That is why, as Mishustin stated, more and more attention is now being paid to startups. Large organizations, including those in Russia, are turning to ready-made artificial intelligence solutions.
The Prime Minister separately focused on specialist training. According to him, Russia has a strong engineering school and many young people who are engaged in scientific developments and create technological solutions. Entrepreneurial classes are appearing in schools, support for student entrepreneurship is developing, and student teams can receive grants and defend their own startups as diploma projects.
As Mishustin noted, last year alone, 5,000 young people from different regions of Russia took advantage of this opportunity.
Another direction is platforms for technological business
According to the Prime Minister, more than 200 technoparks and clusters are currently operating in Russia, where startup founders can get the necessary infrastructure for work. Several dozen more such platforms are planned to be created in the next four years.
Against this background, the number of new companies is also growing. In the first half of 2026, almost 37,000 new IT companies appeared in Russia.
