The release of new iPhone models may provoke another wave of fraud. RuStore and F6 warn that fraudsters are creating phishing websites, social media accounts, and messenger channels offering pre-orders for smartphones, as well as distributing fake services for Apple device owners.
One of the schemes is an offer to buy a new iPhone earlier than others or at a discount. The user is persuaded to make an advance payment, after which the “seller” may disappear. In some cases, the package does arrive, but instead of an original smartphone, it contains a dummy or counterfeit.
The scale of such schemes is already measured in thousands of resources. According to F6, in the first half of 2026 alone, one Russian brand accounted for 2738 fraudulent and phishing resources. For international companies like Apple, this figure, according to experts, could be several times higher.
A separate scheme is built around a supposedly existing “RuStore for iPhone”. In reality, there is no RuStore version for iOS, but fraudsters offer to download a special file or go through “activation”. Such pages can be used as bait to redirect to third-party sites or download unknown files.
There is also a more dangerous scenario: an iPhone owner is lured into a Telegram channel, promising to help install an app removed from the App Store. Following the instructions, the person logs out of their Apple ID and logs into someone else's account, after which the real owner can remotely block the device via “Find My iPhone”. As a result, the user risks losing access to the smartphone and facing device blocking.
