An AORL-AMI 2700 radar has been installed at Keperveem Airport in Chukotka. It determines the position of aircraft and transmits information to air traffic controllers, helping them manage air traffic. The installation of the equipment was announced by Azimut, a company that is part of Rostec.
Keperveem is located in Chukotka, and aviation plays a key role in providing transport links here. The new radar, according to Azimut, more accurately determines the position of aircraft, improves data exchange with aircraft, and allows for an increase in the airport's throughput.
AORL-AMI 2700 is an aerodrome surveillance radar. It is a ground-based system that monitors aircraft and helps air traffic controllers understand where aircraft are located.
The equipment also has other features. The manufacturer notes its small dimensions, low power consumption, and the ability to quickly replace individual components. The radar is designed for remote parameter control, so its diagnostics and operation can be carried out without the constant presence of specialists on site. Rostec previously reported that the equipment's power consumption does not exceed 5 kW.
AORL-AMI 2700 is already in use at other airports. In March 2026, such a radar was installed at Mendeleevo Airport on Kunashir. At that time, Azimut stated that the equipment should help the airport operate in conditions of frequent fogs.
The radar is also installed at Grozny Airport, where it became part of the air traffic control equipment complex. In September, AORL-AMI 2700 was also installed at Makhachkala Airport along with other navigation and flight control systems.
