Yandex has integrated a caller ID directly into the operating system of the new Huawei Nova 16s smartphone. A database of over 160 million numbers warns of potentially dangerous calls, including fraudulent ones. Pre-orders in Russia start on September 24.
Information about the caller is displayed in a system notification during the call and saved in the call log. The service also recognizes useful calls, showing their category — bank, delivery service.
You can report an unwanted number from there. Internet access and the "Yandex — with Alisa AI" application are required for it to work; the function can be disabled in the settings. The integration is done via API, not SDK: the detection logic remains in the application, which simplifies connecting other manufacturers.
The Huawei Nova 16s has become the first smartphone in Russia with an integrated Yandex caller ID.
The company plans to scale the solution to other new Huawei devices and smartphones from other brands.
