The deal is not yet finalized. According to Bloomberg, the search for buyers is at an early stage, so it is unknown whether the sale will take place and who might bid for the assets.

Windalco combines bauxite and alumina capacities. According to Rusal's 2025 report, the complex's design capacity is 4 million tons of bauxite and 1.21 million tons of alumina per year. Actual production in 2025 amounted to 1.565 million tons of bauxite and 396 thousand tons of alumina.

Rusal owns 90% of BCGI. The asset's design capacity is 1.7 million tons of bauxite per year. Production at the enterprise was stopped at the end of 2019, and in February 2020, the asset was mothballed. In Rusal's 2025 report, BCGI's production is listed at zero.

Bauxite and alumina are part of Rusal's aluminum production raw material chain. In 2025, the company produced 6.858 million tons of alumina, of which 396 thousand tons came from Windalco.
