One of the elements of the external radiation monitoring system at the Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant has failed. The damaged post was located approximately 13 km from the plant, in the Ivanivka area.
The ZNPP press service emphasized that this is not about the radiation background directly at the power units, but about one of the remote observation points.
Its loss reduces the system's ability to promptly collect data in the corresponding direction.
At the same time, radiation monitoring continues to be carried out by other available means.
Plant specialists added that the loss of a separate monitoring element is especially important in the event of an emergency, when the speed of data acquisition becomes a critical factor.
