The Russian aerospace company "Buro 1440" provided residents of the village of Nelmin-Nos in the Nenets Autonomous Okrug with access to remote electronic voting via a low-orbit satellite network. This was reported to "Pervy Tekhnichesky" by the company's press service.
Voters used the new generation communication during the elections of deputies to the State Duma of the ninth convocation. The project was implemented jointly with the Central Election Commission of Russia as part of service testing.
Developments from two IKS Holding companies were used for the connection. The Buro 1440 subscriber terminal provided data transmission via the satellite network, and the KVADRA_T tablet from Yadro connected to it provided access to the electronic voting system.
Since August, we have been conducting test activations with future users of the service – in remote settlements and on the railway. Each such project allows us to check the entire chain: from the satellite channel and subscriber terminal to the operation of a specific digital service.
