Russia may undertake metro construction in Yerevan

Armenia has no company capable of winning the tender for continuing work on the "Achapnyak" station

The Russian Federation could be the best partner in the construction of the "Achapnyak" metro station in Yerevan. Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan stated this in an interview with Boon TV.

According to him, the parameters according to which the metro was designed and built create a need for Russia's support for the construction of "Achapnyak" and the further expansion of the network. Cooperation would allow the project to be implemented with minimal difficulties, although they may arise during the process.

Pashinyan recalled that the Yerevan Metro was built during Soviet times. Today, there is no company in Armenia that could win the tender and continue the construction of the subway.

The Yerevan subway consists of one line and ten stations, and its infrastructure was originally designed according to Soviet standards and technologies.
