Rostselmash expects zero profitability by the end of 2026. Konstantin Babkin, co-owner of the company, spoke about this in an interview with Vedomosti.
At the same time, we will make investments of 2.8 billion rubles. In fact, taking these investments into account, it will be a loss.
According to him, the investments were formed from previously accumulated reserves, specifically through the sale of warehouse stock. Without considering investments, the company is currently operating at break-even. In this regard, Rostselmash sees no point in further reducing equipment prices. Babkin emphasized that this would lead to degradation.
Rostselmash has been adapting to declining demand for the fourth year. In July 2026, Babkin assessed the industry situation as critical: over three years, equipment production had approximately halved. At that time, he also cited the strengthening ruble as one of the main problems – in currency terms, combines had become about 30% more expensive.
In November 2025, Babkin had already stated that the company was ready to operate at break-even. Last year, Rostselmash reported a net loss under Russian Accounting Standards (RAS) of about 1.5 billion rubles, and combine shipments decreased by approximately 20%.
