Lada Niva Legend received a whole set of improvements designed to make the familiar SUV more comfortable for everyday driving. Externally, the car has hardly changed, but inside it has become less noisy and vibratory, and some controls have become easier to use.
AvtoVAZ changed the ventilation system. Now it works with a cabin filter that traps dust and contaminants. This is especially relevant for driving on dirt roads. Also, the Niva Legend got central locking and a single key for the doors and ignition lock.
The transmission control has been significantly redesigned. The mechanical gearbox lever has been moved closer to the driver, making it more convenient to engage fifth gear. The transfer case can now be shifted with a single lever.
Changes also affected the transfer case itself. The unit received a third support, and the body at its attachment point was additionally reinforced. According to AvtoVAZ, this should reduce vibrations and improve acoustic comfort in the cabin. Noise was also further reduced under the hood. A new one-piece inner lining appeared there.
The driver's seat has also been updated. The Niva Legend received a new steering wheel, and the steering column can now be adjusted for height. The steering column switches have become more modern, and the windshield wiper has an additional speed.
