PULKOVO employees' fatigue will be monitored by bracelets and rings

Airport employees will have their pulse, temperature, stress levels, and activity measured during shifts

At St. Petersburg's Pulkovo Airport, bracelets, rings, and other wearable devices are being tested to help assess the condition of employees during work. Based on their readings, they want to understand how tired a person is and whether it's time for them to rest or hand over the shift to another employee.

According to Leonid Sergeev, the airport's CEO, the technology is primarily intended for employees whose work involves high physical activity and requires constant concentration and attention.

During shifts, the devices measure a standard set of indicators: heart rate, temperature, stress level, and activity. This data can help detect employee fatigue or overwork in a timely manner.

If a person is very tired, they may be given the opportunity to rest or have a shift change. Thus, wearable devices should help objectively assess the workload on employees during the work process.

Pulkovo says they want to develop a human-centric approach to employees working on the apron and in the terminal. At the same time, the airport expects to apply such solutions primarily where a person's condition is directly related to their work.

In the future, the airport's digital services are planned to be integrated into a single intelligent management system. It should include solutions for managing flows, quality, cleaning, and commerce.
