A Russian small anti-submarine ship has received an unusual camouflage, presumably designed to protect against drones with AI-based guidance systems. Footage appeared online.
The published photos show that some sections of the side have been painted black with white stripes.
A red element with white "windows" resembling a small house is also visible on the frigate.
Such coloring can be used to change the visual appearance of the ship and its individual elements to make it difficult for automated object recognition by computer vision systems.
The black color on the hull can visually break the ship's silhouette, while contrasting stripes on the artillery mount can make it difficult to determine its shape and position.
This refers to the Project 1331M small anti-submarine ship. Construction of the series began in 1986, and the Soviet and Russian industry received a total of 12 such vessels. The ships are armed with AK-176 and AK-630M mounts, "Smerch-2" rocket launchers, and torpedo tubes.
