Vietnam wants to develop its own quantum industry with Russia's support. The country has proposed that Russia help it develop a national strategy, and Rosatom and the Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology are already working on specific areas of cooperation.
One of the key projects is the creation of a quantum technology center in Vietnam. Simultaneously, the parties are considering launching joint laboratories, training specialists, and developing a roadmap for the new direction.
In Vietnam, quantum technologies are considered priority strategic areas. Interest in Russian developments is shown at state and scientific levels, and the country's president, To Lam, has called this direction one of Russia's strong competencies.
According to Ekaterina Solntseva, Director for Quantum Technologies at Rosatom, the parties will effectively have to form a new high-tech industry in a short time. Russian-Vietnamese cooperation should cover not only research but also infrastructure creation and personnel training.
