On Tanker's Day, September 13, Uralvagonzavod showcased the T-90M with new factory-made drone protection on social media. The design significantly differs from earlier "brazier" variants and now covers a substantial part of the tank from all sides.
The turret is covered by a dome-shaped grille made of vertical bars. Chains and a cable with small weights are tightly placed between them, and large rubber elements are installed on top. This combination should provide additional protection for the vehicle against drone attacks and cumulative munitions.
The main change is in the upper part of the structure. It houses a smoke screen system with 12 launchers, as well as an electronic warfare complex with four suppression modules.
The side projection also received additional cover: thin rubber elements cover the sides, while the front and rear are protected by oval lattice structures and vertical rods. In the area of the track fenders, the elements form a dense weave.
It should be noted that the "Arena-M" active protection complex is not present on the "Proryv". Information emerged that the system received 36 counter-missiles, modernized specifically against drones.
