In Tatarstan, a Cessna 172 training aircraft crashed into the garden of a private house after an alleged collision with a TV tower – two people died. The disaster occurred on September 12 in the village of Shemordan, Sabinsky District, the regional Ministry of Emergency Situations reported.
The aircraft crashed onto the territory of a private household on Kommunalnaya Street. There were two people on board, both died. No one on the ground was injured, and no destruction or fire was recorded after the crash.
The crashed aircraft is a Cessna 172, one of the most common light aircraft in the world, widely used for pilot training and private flights. The aircraft is designed for four passengers and has a high wing.
According to media reports, the aircraft belonged to the Central Aeroclub of Tatarstan, based at Kurkachi airfield.
The investigative body has opened a criminal case under Article 263 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation on violation of air transport safety rules. Investigators must establish what happened before the crash, including possible technical malfunction of the aircraft and actions of the crew. The Volga Transport Prosecutor's Office has also launched an inspection into compliance with flight safety requirements.
