Nornickel's 10 Billion Project: 5 More Gas Production Wells Drilled at the Pelyatkinskoye Field

Additional volumes of natural gas will be directed to mining and metallurgical production

Specialists from Norilskgazprom (part of PAO GMK Norilsk Nickel) have drilled and commissioned 5 production wells at the Pelyatkinskoye gas condensate field in the Krasnoyarsk Krai. Investments in the project amounted to 10 billion rubles, according to Nornickel's press service.

The total number of wells at the Pelyatkinskoye field has increased to 46.

The new wells will allow us to provide the necessary volumes of gas for both the growing production capacities of metallurgy and new projects for the development of mining production and the construction of the third launch complex at the Talnakhskaya concentrator.
Evgeny Fedorov, First Vice President, Chief Operating Officer of Nornickel

In addition, the company will be able to supply gas to social infrastructure facilities in Norilsk and Dudinka, Fedorov added.

The first 3 gas wells were drilled in 2024, and another 3 in 2025. The work was carried out using a 1200-ton Russian-made drilling rig on a wheeled chassis. The total length of penetration exceeded 15 km. In 2026, the wells were connected to the existing infrastructure of the field.

The Pelyatkinskoye gas condensate field is located 170 km from the city of Dudinka. It accounts for about 80% of all natural gas production in Taimyr.
