Yandex Go passengers will be offered a discount of up to 50% for willingness to wait for a taxi during peak hours. On average, in the new "Later" mode, the wait will be 30–40 minutes, and the trip cost will decrease by 30%, the service reported.
During periods of high demand, the service's algorithm will automatically offer the passenger the "Later" mode. In this case, the car will arrive with a delay, but the trip cost will be lower. The discount is provided by Yandex Go at its own expense and does not affect drivers' income, the message states.
The mode activates automatically — for example, in traffic jams, heavy rain, or immediately after major events, the company added. Before confirming the order, the passenger sees the estimated waiting time and the final trip cost.
On average, the wait in "Later" mode is 30–40 minutes, with a discount of 30%, and in some cases, it reaches 50%. The service explained that a more even distribution of orders over time allows smoothing out price spikes when demand for rides exceeds the number of available cars.
