The cargo version of the regional turboprop aircraft Il-114-300 could potentially interest foreign customers. This opinion was expressed by Gennady Abramenkov, Deputy Head of the Russian Ministry of Industry and Trade.
I see great potential for this machine both for the domestic market and for export.
The Russian Ministry of Industry and Trade, together with developers, is assessing the possible demand for the cargo modification of the Il-114-300. Optimization of the aircraft's production cost is also being worked out.
Mikhail Alekseev, the chief designer of the aircraft, previously stated that there is no cargo version yet. Such an aircraft may appear in 2029. According to Alekseev, the possibility of creating a medical version based on the Il-114-300 for transporting patients is already being discussed.
In June 2026, Rosaviatsiya issued a type certificate for the aircraft. The document confirms that its design complies with airworthiness standards. The Il-114-300 was developed in cooperation by leading enterprises of the country under the auspices of the United Aircraft Corporation, including PAO "Il" - Aviastar (Ulyanovsk), Branch of PAO "Il" - VASO (Voronezh) and NAZ "Sokol" (Nizhny Novgorod).
Russia also plans to establish Il-114-300 production in India. However, the partner country will not be able to sell the aircraft to other countries, which will be specified in the license. Negotiations on localization are still ongoing.
