Scammers have come up with a new legend around Wildberries and Ozon. Messages are circulating online that marketplace applications allegedly need to be urgently deleted and then reinstalled after September 1. Alla Khrapunova, deputy head of the People's Front project "For the Rights of Borrowers," warned about the new scheme.
The reasons given vary: "dangerous update," transition to digital ruble payments, or possible problems with the old version. After this, a person may receive an email or message with a link to the "correct" application – this is how fraudsters try to steal personal and payment data.
Scammers come up with various legends: allegedly a dangerous update has been released, allegedly everything is connected with the transition to digital ruble payments.
There is no need to delete Wildberries or Ozon due to such messages. Updates should only be installed through official app stores or by notification within the service itself. It is better not to open links from emails and messengers – they may lead to phishing sites or malicious programs.
