The Moskvich plant, Kama company, which is developing the Russian Atom electric car, and Chinese Hangzhou Shibao signed a memorandum of cooperation on the sidelines of the EEF. The parties will create a working group to develop and adapt the new system.

Steering without a mechanical connection between the steering wheel and the steered wheels allows for deeper integration of steering with the car's electronic systems.

The Chinese company is to supply the Steer-by-wire system and participate in its adaptation for Moskvich cars. Atom specialists will join the development, calibration, and preparation of the technology for certification.

According to Kadakov, no one in Russia is currently producing such systems. Steer-by-wire can also become the technological basis for autonomous driving systems up to L4 level.
