Aeroflot is the first Russian airline to put the domestic information system “Kupol” into commercial operation for the automation of aircraft maintenance and repair, the carrier's press service reported.
The system will replace the Swiss AMOS and will take over the control of units, flight hours, documentation, and maintaining airworthiness. The development was carried out by the Engineering Center for Information and Analytical Systems with the participation of RT-Proektnye Tekhnologii (Rostec). “Kupol” reduces planned aircraft downtime for MRO and accelerates troubleshooting.
Specialists get an ergonomic interface with interactive manuals and digital 3D models of units. The company believes that the platform has no Russian analogues and will surpass foreign software in a number of functions.
Alexey Mikhalik, Deputy General Director — Technical Director of Aeroflot, noted that “Kupol” not only replaces foreign software but also elevates airworthiness management to a new level, and in the future will allow a transition to predictive technologies.
The Aeroflot Group maintains 96% of its fleet in an airworthy condition. Its own provider, Aeroflot Technics, with 21 line stations, performed more than 1000 A-checks and 105 heavy C-checks in 2024. “Kupol” will become a single standard for airlines, factories, leasing structures, and aviation authorities in the future.
