Air defense systems are currently the main direction of military-technical cooperation between Russia and Iran, and the S-300 has performed well in the Iranian army. Dmitry Shugaev, Director of the Federal Service for Military-Technical Cooperation (FSVTS), told IS "Vesti" about this.
Now the most important direction for Iran is air defense systems. This topic did not arise, as they say, just recently – it has been discussed for quite a long time. Moreover, they have our S-300 system in service, which, in general, is proving to be very effective.
According to him, other types of weapons are also being discussed, including aviation equipment and small arms. Shugaev added that the entire range of weapons that Russia offers for export, especially to strategic partners, is somehow on the agenda.
Earlier, we reported on the appearance of Russian S-300 air defense systems at a parade in Iran in honor of Army Day. The complexes in national camouflage were demonstrated alongside other air defense assets, including "Sayyad-3" and "Majid".
