"Astra Group" has released a new version of the "Astra Monitoring" platform – 1.6.0. The main change is the introduction of its own command line interface, amctl, which allows the system to be managed from the terminal, automate routine operations, and connect AI agents.
Through the new CLI, users can obtain metrics, logs, and traces, configure monitors, and work with incidents, the company said. Configurations can be stored in YAML format, and data can be retrieved in JSON. This is expected to simplify integration with scripts, continuous integration systems, and AI agents.
A simpler option has also appeared to temporarily disable alert notifications – for example, during scheduled maintenance.
The developers have also simplified troubleshooting in the infrastructure. Now, in large arrays of logs and technical SNMP/IPMI signals, the necessary information can be found faster thanks to filtering by various parameters. For traces – data on the passage of requests and operations within the system – hints have appeared, and the processing of such data has become faster.
The update also affected Kubernetes control – a platform that helps manage many applications and services simultaneously. Now specialists can see the overall picture of the system's operation and separately check the status of its elements: the servers on which everything runs, individual applications, containers, and services. This is necessary to quickly find problems and understand exactly where the failure occurred.
Version 1.6.0 also introduced agent installation on Windows, single sign-on with Grafana, tags for monitors, and basic user action auditing. Page search has become better at understanding transliteration, synonyms, and even incorrect keyboard layouts.
The developers also reported fixing dozens of bugs. In addition, they eliminated a security issue discovered during static code analysis.
