A strategic session "Marine Robotics" was held in Murmansk, where Rostec, together with the Ministry of Industry and Trade and the Ministry of Science and Higher Education, identified priorities for the development of the industry. This was reported by the press service of the state corporation.
The focus is on uncrewed surface vessels, unmanned underwater vehicles, exploration of the Arctic and the World Ocean, monitoring of water areas, and search and rescue operations. Rostec enterprises are already creating uncrewed surface vessels, telesystems for underwater vehicles, deep-water cameras operating at depths of up to 12 thousand meters, as well as data transmission and control systems for underwater infrastructure. Over the past three years, the corporation has allocated more than 50 billion rubles for joint scientific research with universities, and the council of key universities includes over 30 universities. More than 25 developments were presented in the demo zone – from compact remotely operated vehicles to complex solutions for hydrography, patrolling, and environmental monitoring.
The participants proposed to form a coordinated list of priority thematic areas and to fund them specifically through the programs of the Ministry of Education and Science and the Ministry of Industry and Trade to avoid duplication and dispersion of resources.
Minister of Industry and Trade Anton Alikhanov emphasized that the interaction between researchers and manufacturers can ensure a rapid technological result. Rostec CEO Sergey Chemezov noted that the "industry, science, and state" link allows for faster transformation of ideas into prototypes, and prototypes into serial products. The consolidated revenue of the corporation in 2025 exceeded 4.5 trillion rubles.
