The Russian market's demand for light multi-purpose Akkord-201 aircraft in the next ten years could be 30–50 units, but their serial production is currently hindered by the absence of a certified domestic engine. This assessment was given by Ilya Shatilin, founder of FrequentFlyers.ru.
According to the expert, the main volume of orders could be provided by the state. The Akkord-201 is considered an aircraft for air ambulance services, aerial forest protection, aerial photography, and initial pilot training. The aircraft can also be used on local air routes, but regular passenger flights on a machine of this class would likely require subsidies.
The main limitation for the aircraft's return to serial production remains the power plant. Until a Russian engine with the necessary characteristics appears and receives the appropriate certificate, it is too early to talk about specific dates for the release of a new series.
Commercial demand for the Akkord-201 is estimated cautiously. Oleg Panteleev, Executive Director of Aviaport, believes the light aviation market is not capacious enough for a large number of such aircraft. At the same time, he notes the attractive flight performance characteristics of the aircraft.
The prospect of industrial production of the Akkord-201 is already being discussed with the Nizhny Novgorod Aircraft Plant "Sokol". The head of the Ministry of Industry and Trade, Anton Alikhanov, previously reported that the OAK enterprise could undertake the mechanical processing of parts and assembly of aircraft units.
