RD-107A/108A engines manufactured by United Engine Corporation (ODK, part of Rostec) ensured the successful launch of the Soyuz-2.1b launch vehicle from the Plesetsk Cosmodrome on August 24. The power plants, installed on the first and second stages, operated flawlessly and delivered the spacecraft to its target orbit at the calculated time.
ODK specialists participated in preparing the launch vehicle for launch, and also monitored the engine operating parameters at all stages of the flight.
The first and second stages of all Soyuz family launch vehicles are equipped with RD-107A/RD-108A engines manufactured by ODK. The thrust of the RD-107A (first stage) at Earth's surface is 85.6 tf, and the specific impulse in vacuum is 320.2 s. For the RD-108A (second stage), these figures are 80.8 tf and 320.6 s, respectively. In total, more than 12 thousand serial rocket engines have been produced, and 2022 launches of space rockets with RD-107/RD-108 engines have been carried out.
